Frequently Asked Questions
What type of water is recommended for the Meraki coffee machine?
Water really matters. For best results and long-term reliability of your Meraki coffee machine, we recommend using filtered water with hardness below 60 PPM or TDS under 200. While tap water may be used if it meets these standards, untreated water can cause odors, scale buildup, and make cleaning more difficult. Bottled water or a reliable home filtration system is the ideal choice for consistent performance.
Are Meraki espresso machine accessories dishwasher safe?
Most accessories of the Meraki espresso machine, including the drip tray, dosing cup, and portafilter, are not dishwasher safe and should be cleaned by hand. The milk pitcher, however, is dishwasher safe and can be cleaned safely in the dishwasher.
How does CoffeeSense™ work on the Meraki espresso machine?
CoffeeSense™ allows the Meraki espresso machine to automatically recognize your coffee beans. Simply swipe the Meraki coffee bean bag with the built-in NFC chip over the NFC area on the machine. The touchscreen will then display recommended grind and extraction settings. Using the dual built-in scales, the machine automatically stops grinding and extraction once the correct weight is reached.
Does the Meraki espresso machine use PID temperature control?
Yes. The Meraki espresso machine uses advanced PID technology to precisely control water temperature during extraction. Combined with a heated group head, the PID system ensures stable brewing temperatures at the portafilter, resulting in consistent, flavorful espresso every time.
What is the maximum capacity of the built-in scales?
The Meraki espresso machine features a dual-scale system, with each scale supporting a maximum weight of 1 kg for accurate grinding and extraction.
How long does the Meraki espresso machine take to heat up?
The Meraki coffee machine heats up in approximately 3 minutes for the 220–240V version, and around 4 minutes for the 100–120V version, so it’s ready when you are.
