Manual espresso machines give the barista a unique brewing experience and direct control over the espresso brewing process. Unlike pump espresso machines where the pressure for the espresso extraction is controlled by the machine, with manual machines the barista controls the pressure and brew time. Since manual espresso machines require no electricity they are great for travel or to use just about anywhere.
