- ◆In São Sebastião do Anta, within Mata de Minas, the soil was not traditionally known for specialty coffee, and Inacio’s father, Jairo, traded in conventional coffees, influenced by green traders who dismissed the idea of specialty grade on their farm. When Jairo fell seriously ill, Inacio returned to the fazenda to uphold the family legacy, and his passion grew into a determination to prove the skeptics wrong.
- ◆In Panama, Finca Santa Teresa benefits from rich volcanic soil, high altitudes, rainforests, and ideal weather, and its sales rest on high-quality traditional varieties like Catuai and Caturra. Its Geisha trees descend from Don Serracin’s Geisha from the esteemed Don Pache estate, which gives its lots a distinct character.
